He notes that Mr Hamilton's [Frederick Hamilton (HAM/1/4/1<\/a>), Mrs Holman's father] 'desire of its being private, has prevented my offering my Carriage to attend, which I should have be[en] glad to have done'.<\/p>

Greville again mentions that he and his wife had not been aware of Holman's illness and were surprised that no-one had informed them that she had been ill for over thirty days.
