Her doctor has treated the rheumatism successfully but she is 'confin[e]d' at home for the time being. She invites Mary Hamilton and Mr Dickenson to instead visit her, and talks of Mrs Vesey [Elizabeth Vesey (c.1715-1791), literary hostess] and notes that, if she could leave her home, she would be 'among the first to wait on Her'.<\/p>"
