She is happy to hear reports of her improved health and notes the benefits of warm sea baths. Harpur notes that Dickenson's 'political News is discouraging'. The fact that 'war may not be distant' alarms her and hopes that God will 'interpose' and grant a permanent peace. She notes that their cousins, the Cathcarts, [William Schaw Cathcart, 1st Earl Cathcart, (1755-1843), army officer and politician, Russian Ambassador from 1812-1920] have left England for Petersburg. She notes that the appointment is 'judicious' but she would consider such a thing as a banishment from family and friends.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Harpur continues her letter with other news of family.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dated at Lavington House, [Sussex].<\/p>"
