   "value": "<p style='text-align: justify;'>Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton, relating to Napier's visit to Court. Napier is pleased that Hamilton approved of his visit to St James's. Napier had three reasons for doing so. The first being that he will not be in town this Winter as he expects to see his Uncle Hope in Bath. The second reason is that he went to Court to show that he was not giving himself \u2018airs of being displeased because the K[ing]. had not given\u2019 him the promotion that he had asked for. The third reason is that he had asked Lord Amherst to inform the King his wish to serve abroad. He admits to Hamilton that he is tired of his present duty of recruiting and feels at home with military life and being with his regiment.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The letter continues with family news.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dated at Worcester.<\/p>"
