   "value": "<p style='text-align: justify;'>Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton, on the subject of the disbandment of his regiment. He has been informed that he need not go to Aberdeen, as his regiment will be most likely be disbanded before he gets there, so he will once again be free of his military responsibilities although he regrets the financial loss that this will entail: £310 per year. The regiment was to serve only in Scotland but a militia has been established there. The letter continues on the subject of his men and bounty, and on the way that he was told of the regiment's demise.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>He ends the letter by confirming that the story [presumably asked to do so by Hamilton] of the United Irishmen is true, although he does not believe the numbers to be as large as the newspapers state.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dated at St James's Street, [London].<\/p>"
