   "value": "<p style='text-align: justify;'>Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton, concerning the Ministry and the fact that he has been allowed to remain his Majesty's Representative in the General Assembly, which surprises him. He also writes that he has received a letter from his son William from Madeira, but does not know where he will go next. William is in good spirits and 'flatters himself that he has hit on a mode of calculation from which he expects to find out the Longitude and so become the Rival in Fame of his ancestor, the inventor of the Logarithms'.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dated at Queen Street, [Edinburgh].<\/p>"
