Writing shortly after returning from a visit to his brother in Berlin, Herrmann Simon discusses financial difficulties resulting from the confiscation of goods stored in his vaults and reluctantly accepts financial support from his brother, from whom he agrees to borrow 5000 P if it is needed. He gives Heinrich advice about his relationship with \u2018S.\u2019 and recommends that Herrmann should look elsewhere, within their social circle, for a prospective wife.
