   "value": "<p style='text-align: justify;'>The Macurator, or Macaura\u2019s Pulsocon, named after a \u2018Dr. Macaura\u2019 is a hand-held vibrating blood circulator and massager. It was operated by turning a handle. The once soft rubber pad applied to the skin. Dr. Macaura claimed that the device could cure constipation, rheumatism, paralysis, asthma and heart disease, although such claims were medically unfounded. Despite this, the device continued to appear in medical catalogues up to the 1950s. Dr. Macaura was not medically qualified. He moved around the country and changed the name of the device on multiple occasions. This example was made shortly before he was jailed in 1914.<\/p>"
