   "value": "<p style='text-align: justify;'>This distinctively Corinthian-style helmet \u2013 made to cover the entire head and neck, with slits for the eyes and mouth - dates to around Seventh Century BCE. At that time, Egyptian Pharaohs employed many Greek mercenary warriors to help fight Egypt\u2019s enemies.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'><\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The holes around the edges of the metal were intended to help attach a leather lining that would have made the helmet more comfortable to wear. The fact that the cheek guards were once bent back indicates that the piece was decommissioned and was left as a votive gift to the gods.<\/p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Although its findspot is unknown, this piece was likely to have been installed in and discovered at a sacred site in Greece. Similar examples to this one have been attributed to sites in Egypt.<\/p>"
