An enslaved family kneeling in front of a large piece of stone with the name 'Wilberforce' carved on it. There are broken chains and shackles lying next to them and a scroll with the words 'Emancipation' and the names of 'Clarkson', 'Suffield' and 'Buxton'. The illustration was used as the frontispiece to the book The Bow in the Cloud: Or, The Negro's Memorial\u2026<\/p>"
