Each illustrated panel is flanked by two rectangular panels with a vase or a naked female figure that stands on a half globe. The depicted figures in the illustrated panels wear European Renaissance-style garments. The decoration and the illustrations are outlined in brown ink and coloured in light transparent gouache. The technique is rather rudimentary. Some details in the scroll were painted with gold paint, but at present, many of them are rather brown.

Scene above text column 1: Ahasuerus with three of his chamberlains and a servant (Esther 1:2).
Scene above text column 2: Ahasuerus gives a feast, guarded by fully armed soldiers (1:3).
Scene above text column 3: Ahasuerus, two of his chamberlains and two guards.
