<p style='text-align: justify;'>Note written by Mary Hamilton stating that she found the note below on return from the Queen's House. 'Her Majesty had done me the honor of coming to my apartments after ye Drawing Room, & not meeting w[i]th me left this writing upon my table'.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The ‘writing’, now separated from this item HAM/1/1/2/6(2), may well be HAM/1/1/2/7(1), two lines of French, or possibly HAM/1/1/2/10, a scrap of paper recording that she discreetly entered Hamilton’s room but touched nothing.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Formerly catalogued as HAM/1/1/2/6 p.1.</p>
