The Mary Hamilton Papers

Letter from Rev. Frederick Hamilton to Mary Hamilton, offering his condolences on the death of her mother. Frederick received the news via a letter from Lord Dartrey. He says that he knows 'how much you will stand in need of the kind interposition of your Friends to exhort you to moderate your affliction'. However, he believes that Mary has been prepared for the shock, since 'this melancholy event cou'd not have come upon you by surprize'. He hopes to hear from her when her mind is a little calmed.
