He questions her decision and its motivation but sends Hamilton his ‘warmest wishes’.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>On the other side of the sheet is a note from Hamilton to de Guiffardière, transcribed as HAM/1/14/62(1). One is clearly a reply to the other, but it is not clear which way round.</p>
