<p style='text-align: justify;'>A note from Lady Catherine Herries to Mary Hamilton, relating to Herries's health: Herries has been ill with an eye complaint which affected her sight. She writes that her eyesight has improved and she wants to 'profit' by it by going to see 'Christie's pictures'. She also asks Hamilton to 'remember I have no thought of shaking your allegiance to Mrs [Elizabeth] Carter about the other Exhibition where I go tomorrow'.</p>
