The Mary Hamilton Papers

Note from Lady Catherine Herries to Mary Hamilton. She writes that she will send her Coach for Hamilton and John Dickenson and asks that if she gets a note from Dr Burney [Charles,(1726–1814), musician and author, father of author Frances Burney] 'have the goodness to send it here'. She also enquires as to whether the Miss Clarkes (see HAM/1/10) require a maid. Herries had promised a former servant of her mother's that she would mention this and she 'believes that she is a good one'.
