The Mary Hamilton Papers

Letter from Lady Catherine Herries to Mary Hamilton. The letter is concerned with a collection of 'pieces for patchwork' that Lady Herries has acquired on behalf of Hamilton. She writes that she had received the 'delightful collection of pieces for patchwork', which she had been waiting for shortly after writing her last letter to Hamilton. She is very much pleased with them and 'never saw such a number of beautiful patterns'. She asks Hamilton to let her know by return post how she would like them sent to her. She has little time to write further, but will do so once she reaches Bath. Herries ends her letter noting that Mrs Carter is recovering from a fall from which she had bruised her face.

The letter includes the directions for delivery as well as the address.

Dated at St. James's Street, [London].
