He has just time to inform Hamilton of the death of his father [Francis Napier (c.1702-1773), 6th Lord Napier]. He asks her to inform John Hope of this as his father was Hope's uncle. Napier notes that he leaves for Canterbury in a couple of days' time. </p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Dated at London.</p>
