Letter from William Napier, 7th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton. He informs her that he has been confined to his bed since he last wrote to her, but he intends to go out to 'take the air' the following day and to set off home on Sunday so that she should not expect to hear from him until he reaches Scotland. The doctor does not expect him to be in any danger in travelling 'considering this terrible place'.

Dated at Buxton [Derbyshire].
