Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton, informing her of the death of Charles Brown [Hamilton's land agent in Scotland], which is the reason why the remittance from Scotland has not yet been paid. He also writes that his sister has not recovered well from the birth of her son. She is suffering from a cough and breathfulness. He hopes that this will not affect her lungs.
