The Mary Hamilton Papers : Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton

Napier, Francis Scott, 8th Lord

The Mary Hamilton Papers

Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton, relating to Napier's family and servants. He also writes of his 'eccliasial suit' and that he has received a summons to attend the Court of Chancery. He will then be able to determine how the family will contest the will (see HAM/1/20/92). He only has hints at the moment, which suggest that the family are suggesting that she was insane. If this is their only reason, then he will not be too worried. Napier has also heard that his regiment has been marked down for foreign service in the Spring and he is not very happy about the prospect.

Dated at Cork, [Ireland].
