Letter from Francis Napier, 8th Lord Napier, to Mary Hamilton. He writes of his regiment, noting that he has three hundred men under his command, two hundred of whom are garrisoning in Liverpool and one hundred still in the North of Scotland. They have travelled over three hundred and eighty miles but their tiredness is made up for with the 'civility & attention of the Inhabitants of this very busy Town'. He also discusses his family.

Dated at Liverpool.
