<p style='text-align: justify;'>Heinrich Simon tells his uncle Heinrich Simon the Elder about his father’s decision to send him to the grammar school in Brieg where he will board with the family of the head, Friedrich Schmieder. Heinrich is taking private lessons in Latin, in which he is translating the works of Roman historians. He is hoping to visit his uncle in Berlin prior to starting at Brieg.</p>
