<p style='text-align: justify;'>Herrmann Simon informs his son Heinrich that his brother Gustav has the measles, but it seems to be a mild bout and Minna Simon finds herself almost wishing the other children would catch measles, too. Uncle Lütke’s wedding to Mrs Breimersdorf is planned for the coming Saturday, but the Simon Family will not be attending, presumably out of loyalty to Lütke’s former wife and Herrmann’s sister, Louise Bock.</p>
