<p style='text-align: justify;'>Minna Simon and her daughters ask Heinrich whether the new desk has arrived safely and share the latest town and family gossip. Now that his cousins are boarding at school in Hirschberg, Gustav Simon is at a loose end and struggling to make new friends. Hermine Simon tells Heinrich that Gustav went to see the blood-covered body of a palace guard who had died by suicide the night before.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>Note(s):</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The content of this undated letter indicates that it was written after 20 January 1822, read in conjunction with SIM1/150c, SIM1/151 and SIM1/152.</p>
