<p style='text-align: justify;'>Writing shortly after returning from a visit to his brother in Berlin, Herrmann Simon discusses financial difficulties resulting from the confiscation of goods stored in his vaults and reluctantly accepts financial support from his brother, from whom he agrees to borrow 5000 P if it is needed. He gives Heinrich advice about his relationship with ‘S.’ and recommends that Herrmann should look elsewhere, within their social circle, for a prospective wife. The letter concludes with news about the business, including a potential order from Arnim and a cancelled delivery from Möring, and about his children, including the baptism of Gustav.</p>
