A set of 12 silver urinary bladder catheters and sounds, with oil bottle. A urinary catheter is a tube used to empty the bladder and collect urine. Urinary catheters are inserted via the urethra into the bladder to relieve urinary retention or to empty the bladder before surgery. Sounds are solid rods once used to detect bladder stones by tapping or ‘sounding’. Modern catheters are flexible rubber tubes, easy to use and disposable.
