<p style='text-align: justify;'>Greek papyrus that documents a wealthy woman’s purchase of a 12-year-old Syrian slave girl called Zonena (‘Zoe’ in Greek) for the price of 5 talents and 5000 drachmas. The sale was concluded in 282-3 AD and illustrates the trans-regional slave trade active throughout the Roman Empire.</p>
