<p style='text-align: justify;'>Glass jar containing pieces of Frankincense resin. Part of the Materia Medica collection originally from the University of Manchester Pharmacy Department. Training in the use of materia medica was a key skill for pharmacy students in the early years of the Pharmacy Department. This began to fall out of fashion after the Second World War and the increasing use of synthetic pharmaceuticals.</p>
