<p style='text-align: justify;'> Public notice issued by nine Magistrates acting for the Counties Palatine of Lancaster and Chester, declaring the Public Meeting to be held on the 9th of August 1819 near St Peter's Church, Manchester to be illegal and cautioning 'all persons' against attending. The meeting subsequently took place on the 16th August and became known as the Peterloo Massacre, after cavalry charged into the crowd causing death and injury. </p>
