<p style='text-align: justify;'> Handbill containing an open letter from J.T. Saxton to the Requisitionists who Signed the Notice for the Public Meeting on Monday next. This notice was published by the Manchester Observer Office on August 4, 1819 and posted throughout the town and widely distributed. Saxton's notice was succeeded, the same day, by another handbill from the Inhabitant(s) Householders of Manchester entitled 'Public Meeting' (English MS 1197/13), announcing the intention of the Requisitionists to abandon the former meeting altogether, and expressing their desire to request the Boroughreeves and Constables to arrange another. </p>
