The Letters of John Ruskin : Letter from John Ruskin to A.H. [Arthur Heygate] Mackmurdo

Ruskin, John, 1819-1900

The Letters of John Ruskin

Letter from John Ruskin disapproving of a topic chosen for research and a lecture by Mackmurdo and stating that it has been the 'stumbling block of well meaning people.' He is adamant that Mackmurdo does not pursue this 'unlucky subject' further. [This could refer to Mackmurdo's 1878 pamphlet 'The Immorality of Lending for Payment of Interest or of any Usurious Gain.']
