<p style='text-align: justify;'>Composite codex containing Chassidic discourses and legal material. <p>The Hasidic discourses contained are by Rabbi Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn. The legal materials, on Jewish divorce law, seem to have no special connection with the Hasidic discourses. </p><p>This manuscript is from the collection Hayyim Jacob ben Samuel Rashal Velizh. Of the 18 Hasidic manuscripts in the Rylands’ Gaster Hebrew collection, at least eight – Gaster Hebrew MSS <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01344'>1344</a>, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01346'>1346</a>, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01347'>1347</a>, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01349'>1349</a>, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01350'>1350</a>, 1352, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01354'>1354</a>, <a target='_blank' class='externalLink uom-purple' href='https://www.digitalcollections.manchester.ac.uk/view/MS-GASTER-HEBREW-01356'>1356</a> - are from Rashal’s collection.</p><p>This manuscript had belonged to Rabbi David Tsvi (RaDaTs) Chen, too. Radats was the head of the Jewish court of Chernihiv (= Chernigov), Ukraine, and the author of the second part herein on Jewish divorce law. </p></p>
