Hebrew Manuscripts : The Gates of Exile by Isaac ben Joseph of Corbeil and The Gates of Düren by Isaac ben Meir of Düren
Hebrew Manuscripts

This illuminated Ashkenazi manuscript was possibly produced in the Duchy of Brabant around 1346. The main text it contains is The Gates of Exile, also known as the Small Book of Commandments, of Isaac ben Joseph of Corbeil, a thirteenth-century compendium of halakhah in which the legal material is enlivened by homilies, parables and stories. The glosses Isaac’s pupil, Perez ben Elijah, supplied for the work are recorded in the manuscript in a smaller script. Afterwards follows The Gates of Düren of Isaac ben Meir of Düren, dealing with the dietary laws (kashrut). A certain Berachiah ben Samuel copied the texts for Eliʿezer ben Yeḳutiʾel.
