This undated abridgement of the Dīvān-i Shams-i Tabrīzī (Dīvān of Shams of Tabriz, also known as the Dīvān-i Kabīr, or 'Large Dīvān') contains roughly 600 ghazal lyric poems authored by famed medieval poet Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (1207–1273) and named in honour of his friend, Shams-i Tabrīzī (d. ca. 1247), whom he invokes in place of his own pen name in the final lines. This manuscript not only omits stanzaic poems and quatrains typically found in complete version of the work, but also includes variant verses and lines not found in standard editions.
