<p style='text-align: justify;'>The Melkite Paraklitike or Great Oktoechos, containing hymns for Sunday and weekday services, arranged in eight tones, copied in 1449. Many of the headings are in Arabic and/or Syriac. A rearrangement of the Oktoechos, a collection of hymns were translated into Syriac from Byzantine Greek. The tone (or mode) indicated which hymns should be performed and when.</p>
