Pseudo-Dionysius, the Areopagite

Syriac Manuscripts

Sergius of Resh 'Aina's Syriac Translation of the Dionysian Corpus. These writings were falsly attributed to Dionysius the Areopagite. The real author lived in Alexandria in the 6th century and probably knew Sergius of Rēsh ʿAynā (d. 536), a prolific translator who produced the first Syriac translation. This manuscript was copied from an estrangela exemplar by Sh. Mattai bar Paulos in June 1889.
