Early European Print

The Mainz Psalter was the second major book printed with movable type in Europe, after the Gutenberg Bible. It was the first printed book to include a colophon giving both the name of the printers and the date of printing. It was also the first book printed in two sizes of type and to incorporate colour printing, with initial letters printed in red and blue. Ten copies survive.
