Wood-block printed, commercial map of Yokohama, in Japanese, one sheet, folded, oriented with south to the upper right corner. The title appears on the upper right section of the map. A mounted cover label reports the alternative title "Gokaikō Yokohama zenzu" (Complete map of the open port of Yokohama) and the subtitle "kan" (Complete). A colophon in the lower left section reports the place of publication (Yokohama) and the name of the publisher (Azumaya Shinkichi), but no date. Judging from the subject and iconography it was probably published in the late 1850s or in the 1860s. The map is in colour and, as was common, shows relief pictorially. It shows Yokohama port after its opening to foreign trade, and marks the presence of foreign legations (with country names and associated flags) in the lower section.
