<p style='text-align: justify;'>This illustrated edition of the Bible was published by Robert Bowyer, 1758-1834 between 1791 and 1795. It contains 33 full page plates and 30 illustrated title pages to each book of the Bible.</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>The full-page plates are engraved by James Fittler, 1758-1835 after Old Master paintings. Charles Reuben Ryley, 1752?-1798 is credited as intermediary draughtsman for some of the plates. Artists represented in the full-page plates include Albrecht Dürer, 1471-1528, Harmenszoon van Rijn Rembrandt, 1606-1669, Peter Paul Rubens, 1577-1640, Anton Van Dyck, 1599-1641, Antonio da Correggio, ca. 1489-1534 and Nicolas Poussin, 1594?-1665.</p>The title pages for the biblical books are engraved by Vincent. These include vignettes that were probably designed by Charles Reuben Ryley, 1752?-1798, and text that was probably designed by Thomas Tomkins, 1743-1816.<p style='text-align: justify;'>The volume title page was designed by Thomas Tomkins, 1743-1816 and engraved by Vincent.</p>The text was printed for Bowyer by Thomas Bensley, 1760?–1835.<p style='text-align: justify;'>In addition to its illustrations, this edition of the Bible is notable for a misprint in Mark 7:27: "Let the children first be killed" rather than "filled".</p><p style='text-align: justify;'>This volume contains the books of Proverbs to Revelation.</p>
