<p style='text-align: justify;'> Two women handling logs. One dressed in jumper and breeches, the other wearing a smock with an arm band. The Women's Forestry Service was started by Miss Rosamund Crowdy as a section of the Land Army. It was set up under the Timber Supply Department, part of the Board of trade in 1917. Training camps for cutting and measuring the timber were held at several locations, including Wendover. </p>
